If your account qualifies for Courtesy Pay and Debit Card coverage, you can save yourself from having a transaction declined because there isn’t enough money in your account. These features are meant to benefit our Members by covering infrequent, accidental overdraws.
If your checking account qualifies for Courtesy Pay, Royal will pay electronic debits or check transactions even if they overdraw your account. If you opt in to Debit Card Coverage and your account qualifies, Royal will pay debit card transactions that would overdraw your account. The amount that is covered is variable. Members and Royal team members are not able to check the limit for these services.
You can opt in or opt out of Debit Card Coverage through the Services tab at the top of the page.
- From Services, click on Debit Card Coverage.
- All of your debit cards will be listed and you can click the toggle to turn Debit Card Coverage on or off
